Be a part of our future
Thank you for considering leaving a gift in your will to Katharine House. Remembering the hospice in your will is a very special way of making sure the local community can receive care and support for years to come.
Leave a gift in your will to Katharine House Hospice
Gifts in wills are a vital source of funding for Katharine House. In fact, one in ten people are cared for due to the generosity of those who leave the hospice a gift in their will.
We understand you will want to make your family and loved ones a priority. However, any gift you leave to the hospice, no matter what size, will help us to provide the right combination of professional clinical care and emotional and practical support to those who need us. Even 1% of your estate will make a huge difference to someone on the journey towards the end of their life.
“Every gift left in a will helps me and other nurses and doctors provide compassionate care to patients and their families.” Abbie, Ward Manager of Katharine House Hospice Inpatient Unit
How can I remember the hospice in my will?
There are a number of ways you can leave us a gift in your will:
• Make an appointment with a solicitor to write your will
• Use a will writing service, either face to face or via an online portal.
Whichever service you use, we always recommend you talk to a solicitor about making or changing your will. See our article on writing a will and why you should use a solicitor in the EPiC Resource Centre.
There is no obligation to include Katharine House in your will, but if you can support us we would be so grateful. If you do decide to leave a gift to us, you’ll need to use our full charity name (Katharine House Hospice Trust) and registered charity number (297099). Whatever you decide to leave, we will make sure your legacy gift is used carefully and responsibly to help people at the most difficult times.
“Being a volunteer has given me an insight into how important Katharine House is to this community, to its volunteers and staff and of course to the patients. I would like the hospice to be here to care for our community for many years to come and that is why I have left a gift to Katharine House in my will.” Janette, Katharine House supporter and volunteer
