Open Gardens Ambassador Volunteer

The role

Our Open Gardens Ambassadors are our eyes and ears on the ground to help us find willing Open Garden hosts for our Open Garden Schemes campaign. This campaign raises thousands of pounds annually for Katharine House Hospice.  

Rachel Burns, the hospice’s Community Engagement Officer, who works closely with all our volunteers for Open Gardens said: “I’m excited we have this new volunteering role, especially for someone who’s passionate and enthusiastic about gardening and horticulture. You will be playing a key role in helping to identify new gardens in our hospice’s local catchment area.

“We have so many beautiful villages and towns with gardens, and it would be wonderful to see our numbers of Open Gardens grow to help raise as much money as possible for Katharine House Hospice, which is such a worthwhile cause.

“Our supporters love to visit new and existing gardens each year and this new volunteering role will be a wonderful way to help the campaign bloom.”

“This role is perfect for anyone who loves gardens and enjoys being out in our local community to inspire hosts to support and take part in our Open Gardens scheme. It’s a fantastic opportunity to connect, encourage openings and visits with local community groups and organisations as well as individuals.”
