Ward drivers
Meet new people and help to make a real difference to our patients and families.
The role
Our volunteer drivers are an important part of our care.
Patients who stay on our ward often find it difficult to get to and from the hospice and rely on volunteer drivers to take them to hospital appointments or back home when they’re discharged.
We’re looking for people who own a car and have spare time to collect and deliver passengers, their families, staff and equipment, from a range of different places and appointments as required.
A reasonable level of fitness is required, as well as the ability to to work independently and have a caring and supportive manner.Â

Patient drivers: We are looking for a number of responsible volunteer hospice drivers to transport patients using the hospice facilities. You’ll pick up patients in your own car from their home (our catchment area is north Oxfordshire or south Northamptonshire) and bring them into the hospice for appointments or to spend the day with us.
